I am trying to print a drawing set to PDF so that the text is NOT editable.
We have a client trying to insert our PDF into theirs and when they do so all of the text in our PDF disappears. I believe this stems from the text being almost a separate layer if you will. I cannot find a setting where when I print to PDF the text is not editable; however, in CAD when you print to PDF the text is NOT editable (which is what I want).
HELP!
You can find a setting for that in the options of your PDF software.
Rob, do you know where this setting may be? It appears that all of the PDF printing settings match what I have in CAD but PDF's from CAD do not print with editable text where the Revit PDFs do.
It's going to vary depending on your PDF program. I just got a new machine and don't have our PDF program on it yet so I can't even show you a screen shot and to be honest, I don't think I've come across editable text in Revit PDFs so you are probably using something that I am not familiar with.
A couple things to look at in the printer properties would be flattening and searchable text.
I am using Adobe Acrobat, so to me it seems as though there should be a function to turn off the text recognition (especially since it is so widely used). I cannot find it though.
