R2020 finally has the ability to import PDF. It works in for floorplans where I insert the PDF of the floorplan and i can trace walls and doors based on the PDF (assuming the PDF is a plan of the existing building for example). A floor seems to hide the PDF, but i can work around that and not insert the floor before I'm done tracing the existing walls.
On an elevation view I do the same when inserting windows and other features. The problem is that if the PDF is set to "background" (in properties under draw layer), the building hides that part of the PDF. If i set the PDF to "foreground", the building is hidden.
See pictures below where the building (white rectangle) hides the PDF, or where the PDF hides the entire PDF.
The "Modify Raster image" commands don't seem to do anything. (bring to front, send to back etc.).
What I want is the PDF and my building being shown at the same time so I can see what I place.
Are there ways to make both visible?
I'm also curious if anyone has other "best practices" of this new feature. Obviously this can be very helpful when working on existing buildings.

I haven't got 2020 installed yet but suspect Revit treats the PDF display as an image. Does Wireframe view option give you the visibility combo you need?
hello, you can try the graphic display options > transparency adjustment and see if helps. thanks
Thanks to both of you. Both your ideas work and give about the same result. Adjusting transparency has advantage that it can be fine-tuned (100% transparency looks like wireframe)
