Pattern model line inconsistent in 2D and 3D view

Hi

I have a wall with pattern line, I have manually positioned the line to where it should be, however the 3D view  does not match what's in the elevation. if I correct the line postion in the 3D view the line 2D elevation will move accordingly. so only one view is correct at the same time.

any suggestion?

Did you press TAB to select the hatch line only and manually move it without moving the entire object?

Model Surface Pattern?  If so, what @syman2000 said.  If not,  why not a Model Line - or even a Model Sweep or Reveal, depending on what it is supposed to represent?
