Hi guys, I have to recreate the church decay in my Revit model. To do so I previously created a wall 5mm thick and I named it Decay1 , afterwards I used Wall by face, then Create parts and with Divide Parts I modelled the form of the decay. So now I have the exact measure of the surface.
my problem is that Decay 1 is composed of a group of singles decays such as erosion, pitting, vegetation, etc. ù
Decay 2 is composed of just erosion and pitting
And I wanna create a schedule in which i can calculate the total m^2 of the singles dacays.
Can I assign these parameters directly to the parts?
If I cannot, assigning them to the original wall is gonna tranfer them to the parts too?
And there is a way to create a subcategory of a family system as the one of the walls? so that I can differetiate the "wall" decay from the regular ones
thank you!

Not too sure what exactly the question is, but---
Try a Material Takeoff Schedule to distinguish Decay -1 Material, Decay-2 Material, etc.
I'm sorry I got a little confused myself!
At the end I have 2 question:
1) If I put in the material/wall a series of individual decays, when I'm gonna split in Parts, these parts are gonna "remember" the property of the original wall?
2) Is there a way to distinguish this wall/decay that I've created from all the regular walls? Creating a sort of subcategory of the walls
Thank you
Isn't this fundamentally about Naming so you can identify/filter/sort and group/calculate certain Materials in the schedules?

Show Parts, Show Original, Show Both. All conditions can be depicted in a view (View Properties=>Parts Visibility). Additionally, you can modify Parts' Phasing and Materials and even their extents. In fact, it sounds like Phasing is what you are after; Existing condition vs New Construction condition. No?

Are erosion, pitting, vegetation decays overlapping or can you separate them physically? If the former then you need to add some parameters such as a percentage for each type of decays per the overall decay area to calculate the individual decay type in the schedule. If the latter then you can split parts, assign different decay materials, and use material take-off schedule.

The parameter already exists: Area.
Select the part and then unclick the Material by original. This will allow you to assign different materials to different parts. I'm not sure about assigning another parameter to a part. This might not be possible. I'm trying to assign parameters to parts so if anyone has any insight please let me know.
Solved my own question. Parts are considered their own category so if you add the project parameter to the parts category it will show up in all parts regardless of the parent category such as wall.
