Hello Everybody,
I'm working on a automatic door right now, but somehow not everyone goes to plan. When I change the height of the family, some parts are not going with the rest of the family. See screenshots below. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this problem.
How it should look
How it looks after the heightchange
When I'm using a dimension and lock it, then it wil not go down eather. It will extend the extension down so it doesn't have the right shape or it will delete the element completly.
Can someone help me with this problem?
Something isn't constrained properly. Are those elements from a nested family or did you make them in this one?
And do you need this much detail in 3D? This level of detail is usually reserved for 2D detail drawings.
I created these blocks in this family itself.
I'm also not sure about the level of detail but my client wants that
Things that move together should probably be in a nested frame family, hopefully with several levels of detail. I don't see any constraints.
What did they say they want? That they want this detail in 3D, or that they want detail drawings like this? Is the product just this family, or are you working on an actual structure?
You're modeling each and every extruded aluminum component??? Seriously???
Just between me, you and a lamp post - that's just plain crazy nuts.
I can model that entire head track assembly with 1 solid extrusion. 4 more solid extrusions (maybe 5, if I want to go crazy) and I have door panels and frames.
I'm going to put you out of your misery. Go here:
That's my input, for what it's worth.
