Parametric Louver

Hello Everyone
I was trying to make a Parametric Louver with a Frame but I'm stuck on how to copy the louvers so that it can adjust with the height. Any idea how can I manage to do this?I'm trying to create this but to make it ParametricI'm trying to create this but to make it ParametricI'm trying to copy that bottom louver so that it can adjust to the height so that whenever I try to change the height I want the louver to increase with it.I'm trying to copy that bottom louver so that it can adjust to the height so that whenever I try to change the height I want the louver to increase with it.

The easiest way is using curtain walls.  Or you will need to go through the hoop of parametric arraying in the family, and you can only have rectangular louvers.

Don't Copy. Array. You can drive the Array's height, width through parameters and the number of louver blades through a simple formula.

The louver blade would need to be separate family nested into the host frame family where it will be arrayed. Additionally, the louver blade family's "length" parameter would need to be an Instance Parameter and associated to host parameter when nested -- and before arraying.

The key to making it work it to have one end of the louver aligned and locked to the origin Ref. Plane and have it lengthen/shorten in ONE direction - not from the middle outward in both directions.

Confused yet?

Reverse-engineer the attached:

Hi, @barthbradleybarthbradley, I was trying your method, it was what made sense to me, but can't load the louver nested family I made... ¿Does it have to be in any special category? Any idea why I may not load it?

In addition to the good advice that you have already received in this thread, if you (or any other user) still need help with this topic, I recommend you to watch these step by step tutorials on Youtube:

  • "How to Model Louvers in Revit, Part 2" shows how to make louvers with the curtain wall tool. This can create any squares, rectangles or other shapes, and this louver can be inserted easily into a storefront or curtain wall.
