Parametric Array to create a pattern

I'm trying to create a parametric array of holes in a metal panel for a railing support. The panel need to flex in any direction, Does anyone know how to formulate this senario? Curtian Walls and Adaptive families don't appear to work either. Thanks!

Parametric array of voids that also have to flexis asking for trouble. The larger the arrays and the more voids you use will impact performance a great deal.

Have look if you can not simulate it with a material (and use detailing to describe the panel).

Do you have pictures or sketches'what the end result should look like?

Thanks for the reply Louis! I'm attaching a screen shot. You are right, a material would be easier. I'm just trying to get the right look of seeing thru the panel.

See thru? Can do with a material in realistic mode. From a farther distant could be more than sufficient. Quick example

Trying to create panel with arrayed holes that also constrain to an angle is a nightmare. I personally never could make it work (reliably)

Especially creating such panels in 'many' balsuster panels will bring Revit to a halt.

If I had to make something like this for my client I probably would put a single stair (or small area) in a separate project. Create one or more 'plates' with holes (just a generic family or so) and just stick them where I would need them, enough for some close-ups.

Wow! How did you do that? What material allows you to see thru it?

Just created one. Attached a panel with the material applied (Revit 2016)
