Parameter Naming for Rendering Materials vs Finish Materials

I am looking for some feedback on how people have differentiated parameters used for Revit Materials and those used for text-based, material information.

For example:  Door Frame Material, Door Glazing Material, Door Panel Material -- All three of these would generally have a parameter for use in the Door Schedule and a parameter to assign the rendering material to the door.

Typically, these are intermingled under the "Materials and Finishes" section which is also less than ideal.

In the bigger picture, what ways have people indicated via a naming protocol that "This parameter is for the schedule" and "This parameter is for selecting the Revit material"?

I've kicked around prefixes like "Tx" or "Texture_" or adding "Rendering Appearance" to the name as well.

Thank you!

More and more firm are using ISO 19650 for naming convention. Check out this link to see the sample material naming.

Thank you very much for that response.

In that link, you're referring to section 1.3 Parameters? That is interesting but I was hoping to get some feedback on what other folks have done in this circumstance as the example really doesn't describe more than a conceptual framework. So, instead of "Door", what is used for parameters for Revit materials?

Thank you again!
