panel not showing right

Hello I am modelling a building which is a steel frame with profiles steel panels over the top why when i download the BIM object do i just see a block? in the preview window it looks like it should have more detail

from the image...it looks like a curtain panel that was created using the extrude command.  The profile is a rectangle that is extruded up to create the rectangular panel you see.  If you are trying to make a panel in which the profile is different (such as metal decking turned vertical), edit the extrusion profile the show the panel undulations and then finish the extrusion.

i think you misunderstand this is a manufacturer created product and should looks like below.

i see....try changing your level of detail to fine....they might have created it to look basic in Coarse or Medium level of detail.

i downloaded and looked at both the roof and wall system families.  These are basic walls and basic roofs.  You cannot create a corrugated wall or corrugated roof panel system using these two system families.  In order to create the walls/roofs to look like they are corrugated, then you will need to use the curtain panel system and create a custom profile for the panels.  See the following video for the workflow:

Their model is a means to provide the technical data for scheduling and/or exporting to IFC.  For a lot of projects, this is more important than modeling the corrugated panel just for the look.
