Hi all
New to Revit and I'm self taught,
I've learnt to create phase layout so that I have an existing and proposed layout so that I can add a proposed extension and retain the existing layout
PROBLEM I'm having is when I want to form an opening in the existing building to gain access to the extension the opening. When I produce an opening to the proposed layout of an existing wall the opening is formed to both the existing and proposed layout. See attached file
Hope someone can help
Regards Mark

depending on how you create the opening you should be able to verify which host is it assigned to or pick new host when selected (i.e. door opening). If you are creating a wall opening via sketch method, it should be again tied to the host wall you want the opening to be in. Also, double check the current phase you are in when creating the opening/objects.

First, make sure you are in a view with the phase set to Proposed.
Set your phase filter to show complete in the Proposed view and you should see what it will look like when finished.
If you select the wall in the existing phase you will see where the opening is going to be, but it doesn't change the graphics in the Existing view.
Thanks I used doors and then Hide element worked a treat. I don't suppose you know how to construct a bay window with no brickwork between windows and windows at 45 degrees
There are some on seek that might work...or you can use them as a starting point and do a save as and modify as needed.
