Hello !!

I have seen that we can somehow open the file in older version that is saved in newest version (Say Opening file from Revit 2021 in Revit 2020). I know that we can export in IFC format and then opening in Revit 2020 but is there any possibility to change elements to the template of older version too. For example we do have a template in Revit 2020 and have specific names for walls and specific families. Now i got an IFC file from Revit 2021. I want to open it in 2020 and also change all the families (Walls, Windows, doors etc) to that of Revit 2020. Is there any workflow ir any such possibility?

Thanks

No...there isn't...

The elements generated from an IFC are Direct Shapes..ie. although they preserve the same category but they will not be functional system and loadable families.
