Opening (eg Window, Door) through "multiple" walls

Dear Useful Qualified Knowledge Revit Users,

hope you can help me quickly, as opposite to trying to read pages and pages of Instruction materials.

Is it possible to have walls "plastered" one over the other?
The sample I am trying to do is wall consisting of several components, looking like this:

Here is explanation of components

The light blue is Metal Insulated Panel 8cm. Orangebrown is Clay Block 25cm.

What would be ideal for me is to have those two components as separate walls, but still to have ability to place openings (window/door) what is going to cut through both walls at once.

If I can achieve that I would be able to visually (prints, pdf) present separately Block Walls and in separate, different, print Metal Panels.

I know I can do Wall Opening (one wall would carry the window, other will have Opening, behind the window) but it is cumbersome and create huge work when position is changed.

I managed to upload a small video of what is happening with two walls when I try to Join them.
Walls are from same family, in same Floor Plan. 
Can anyone figure out why they are not joining each other and becoming one entity?

Thank you David for sending me in the right direction.

I opened new project, new file, modeled two walls, place window, in one of them, joined and - magic, worked.
Opening is through both of them.

So, that means my project is compromised, or the walls I created are missing something. I created them by duplicating what was available, generic walls supplied in Revit.

Knowing that, I am giving up on trying to find a culprit, and initial idea.

Also, having walls joined they are becoming one entity. My ide was to have them "workable" to hide them or show them in different layouts. 
Idea about having window or door opening penetrating through not just one wall came from mechanical modeling. There you can select the solid and say Penetrate. Anything in the path (what is also controllable) of the solid, or even just a silhouette, will be cut through and updated accordingly if positions or shapes are changed.

There is already a cut tool... Or you can edit a wall's profile or cut a void in it. There are multiple ways to do what you want. And while there MIGHT be an issue with your model being corrupted, its far more likely to be something else.

Gotta go with Barth on this one... don't assume Revit can't do something just because you don't know how to do it yet. Feel free to ask for help, but confident ignorance isn't a good look on this forum, or anywhere for that matter.

I use 3D modeling programs for last 35 years. From the time Ashlar made their first Velum.
I am a member of AD Research Group for Fusion360. I use F360 for 5A CAM. 
I use Revit for fun, making my own building. 
As I said, i am sorry that people comment on posts just because, without bringing any solution.

the tool in Create box is not available in RevitLT.
And as I said I am using Revit for my own project, my own building. Almost for fun.
Industrial building, some monolith construction with addition of metal frame and metal panels. Some 500m2 in floor plan, two storries.

Actually, yes, the whole first part of the post was informing you that there are multiple ways to do the thing you're claiming Revit can't do.

The second part was trying to help you with another problem, which I see you definitely didn't reflect on...

 That's cool that you have all of that experience. But you clearly have a lot to learn about Revit. We're here to help you learn that stuff.
