Open in Twinmotion not working Revit 2025

In the new version of Revit 2025, I have been trying to open files in Twinmotion to render but, on click "Open in Twinmotion" nothing happens. I am not sure what the issue is. In Revit 2024, I was easily able to open and work successfully.

I've noticed I've had to open Twinmotion on its own after an update before it would automatically open when selected in Revit. I haven't tried in R25 yet though. Holding off on jumping into that after all of the issues R24 had for months after launch.

Hi!

Did you manage to fix this issue @spshalin23? I have the same problem, nothing happens when klicking on any TwinMotion options…

Best regards, Måns

Hi,

I did resolve the issue but I am not sure what resolved it. Either it got fixed after the Revit update or, I did downloaded the Twinmotion for Revit instead of downloading Twinmotion from Epic Games.

I am having those same issues with Revit 2025 and TM 2025

I am having this issue of Revit telling me that TwinMotion is not installed, but it is installed.  I have gone through updating Revit to latest version, unistalling TwinMotion and going through the way your link is suggesting, but end up with the same results - Revit saying there is no TwinMotion installed. Opening TwinMotion outside of Revit does not resolve it.  And now because of the steps of launching TwinMotion from Revit, I can't even access TwinMotion on its own, have to go through Epic Launcher.  Shutting down Revit and restarting computer doesn't do anything either.

Need help!

So frustrating!  I ended up installing TwinMotion 2024 after looking up some troubleshooting from the TwinMotion forum. This seems to have resolved being able to open TwinMotion from Revit.  But it's not TwinMotion 2025 that is opening, rather it goes to TM2024 despite TM2025 being installed. The TwinMotion forum suggest changing/adding register keys, but the post did not mention how to do that.

Having the same issues, latest versions of Revit 2025 and TM 2025 were working fine for me as of Friday 3/21 but after installing the latest licensing update via Autodesk Access I can no longer sync with TM (getting the same "Twinmotion is not installed" error). Uninstalling & reinstalling TM made no difference, haven't tried doing the same for Revit since I don't have time to re-setup Revit.

Unfortunately, since it was working fine, I'm already using TM2025 and would have to rebuild my entire projects in TM2024, so I'm stuck not being able to complete renders.

Not sure if theres a difference between the older versions and 2025, or Epic Launcher vs direct install from Autodesk (TM for Revit, specifically), but I get the "Twinmotion not Installed" error when clicking on any of the buttons under the TM menu in Revit 2025. Can't export to Datasmith, can't sync to models already setup, and can't even access the export settings.

I dont have any problem with Datasmith export, I think the open link from TM is the best option for now.

Not sure if this will help anyone else, but I stumbled into a potential solution. After installing TM24 so I could at least rebuild my 25 project in 24, low and behold I can again sync my Revit 25 model with TM25. Open in Twinmotion only works with TM24, but everything else is back working with TM25.

I managed to get around it by installing TM2024.1 It still doesn't bring in my model to TM (2025 or 2024) with a direkt link, but I was at least able to export with an .fbx file and datasmith.

It took a long time for me to get to this but, I think it solved the problem for me. I use twinmotion 24.1.2 for revit 25 as twinmotion 25.1.0 does not work with revit 25. I hope this helps. Attached a screenshot here.

I was having the same issue despite having Revit 2025 and a compatible version of Twinmotion for Revit installed. Eventually, I realized that the problem stemmed from the version of Revit 2025 on my laptop. It is crucial to ensure you update the Revit you are using. In my case, I was using Revit 2025.2, and Twinmotion would not open. However, after updating to Revit 2025.4 (the latest update), the issue was resolved. I hope this proves helpful.
