Hi everyone,
I am working on a model in Revit 2024, I have used (open in Twinmotion) few times to check that each wall and element has a different material, I have tried also this morning to check and it was working just fine.
suddenly, it didn't work at all after I ''saved as'' my Revit file, i press on "open in TM'' but nothing happens, closed and turned off my laptop and then opened again, it opens but it doesn't link the direct link still.
I have checked my interned, it is going through, i downloaded some megascans files, I even changed the name of the file, tried to open other previous versions of the files but nothing works, nothing opens in TM, tried to import direct link but it shows no options, the only thing that worked was to export to datasmith file and then imported in TM.
Can you help me please? Also, if I couldn't find a solution, is it okay to use TM for Revit this way I mentioned?
thanks
Thank you for reporting this behavior to us.
There is another forum conversation, including a number of posts I would like you to check.
First, here is the main topic.
I added a few posts on that topic I have directly linked for reference below, which covers some of the most common reasons for why this could fail, as well as debugging examples and checking the Revit journal for additional details:
Please let us know if this is helpful, or if you have any follow-up questions. Thank you!

Hello Ryan,
Thank you so much for your effort and putting all those links, I have checked them and after trying all and still have the same problem, I attach here my Revit journal, would you mind helping me to know what is error from that? from what I understand we can know the error from the journal.
I have seen that you recommend installing Revit 2024.1, I have Revit 2024 with built-in TM, but in that case, am I able to work on the same file? (sorry for the questions, I am a beginner), but in in case, I would love to know the problem rather than avoiding.
I also have renamed the file in a very simple way with the underscore (_) but i believe it is not the problem.
I would appreciate your help so much.
thanks again,
Thank you for the journal. It looks like Datasmith (which is built into Revit 2024 or later) did initialize fine, and passes the GPU check:

Please confirm the following test:
If this persists I would recommend installing Revit 2024.1 as there are a number of Twinmotion improvements there I would like to rule out. If the issue still persists after installing Revit 2024.1, please let me know, and attach an updated journal where you attempt to use Open in Twinmotion. Thank you!

Hello Ryan,
thank you so much for your following up with me and for your tips;
I confirm that I tried the test, it didn't work, unfortunately. I have also installed the new update of Revit 2024.1 and it still doesn't work.
to explain what I see: in the beginning when I tried to open in TM for the first 3 times, it worked perfectly and I saw the processing of the direct link , on the 4th time, I tried to open again to check something, it didn't even open, tried twice and didn't open.
turned off my laptop and tried again, it opens but without anything, it doesn't process the direct link, which is the same like what happened also yesterday and today after the update.
I attach below the journal and also a screenshot of what I see in TM, with the mouse on what I suspect is the problem (path tracer problem).
once again, thank you so much, I truly appreciate your help.
Thank you for the additional details. Yes, it sounds like everything from the Revit-side is working as expected. Revit is not reporting any errors, Datasmith initialized properly, and the geometry was sent over to Twinmotion (which is launched by Revit as your screenshot shows).
The issue occurs somewhere during the direct link process.
Can you please test the following?
Is this direct link added?
