Open Central models through Synology

Our firm uses Synology Presto for remote work. How do we work in Central models through this platform?

I don't own any of their products but I do know people who are using them. They responded to my question about this with, "No, I wouldn't do that".

The driving concern is worksharing is meant to permit more than on Revit user to access and work on files concurrently. File replication software does not know anything about element borrowing. They can't see that subtle change and if the file is sufficiently different to "notice" the speed with which they sync changes between files can not be fast enough to prevent users from borrowing an element or elements at the same time. As soon as that happens, one or more users can no longer sync and that means losing work.

If you use it to sync files so one person can access the file from outside the office and no other users will work on the file then you might find you can do that, much like Dropbox or Box and others.

At this time the only provable multi-user network environments that properly support Revit worksets/worsharing are Autodesk's BIM 360, Autodesk Revit Server implementation, Panzura, Nasuni and VDI services (Virtual Desktop).
