open a project after closing another

Once I close an existing Revit project, I am unable to open another.  The only option I have is to close Revit and restart.  If I open an existing project while I am still in another, no problem.  But still........

Can you elaborate? Are you saying that File: Open is not working or not available?

Yes.  After closing a project, the "Recent Files" screen appears, with all of my recent projects shown.  But, I cannot open any of them.  And I can't open any of the families.  I can't open a new project.  My only option at this point is to close Revit (that button works) and restart.  If I open my next project before closing the current project, no problem.  I tend to leave my computer running 24/7, so I tried shutting it down but the problem is still there.

Revit 2019.  I searched the link, but I can't find anyone with a similar problem.

Yes, that works.  Thanks.  I think it is unfortunate that the program does not work as it did previously, but maybe it will correct itself with the next update.  Thanks again.  Mike

The new Home Screen interface threw me for a loop too when it was first introduced.   I think I did the same thing as you. I restarted Revit. ARRGH!  More "bells and whistles" to navigate and learn.

Glad I could help, @Anonymous.  Take care.
