Opaque label not masking linework on plot unless raster line removal used

I set up an exit line family with a distance label in the middle of each segment. The label has an opaque background. When drawn in the project, it appears correctly masking the dashed exit line in the view and on the sheet. When I preview or plot the sheet, however, the dashed lines run through the distance label when I use vector line removal on the print setup but correctly mask the linework when I use raster line removal.  Is this a limitation to Revit. I would much prefer to use vector processing rather than raster processing but I can't get it to work.

Other info:  Am plotting to Adobe PDF

Thanks for testing and the demonstration.  That is unfortunate, however, since it is not always easy to predict the width of the extra mask needed for text that may vary in length.  I would've hoped that Revit's opaque background to labels would be enough to mask the underlying linework.

Does it happen to that particular family or for all other text and labels?

Specifically, it is with this exitline family.  I haven't noticed it with others.
