The only way I seem to be able to use a wall sweep is to get it on to drop down menu They're all there in project browser but they won't "activate" to apply - only the one item on the drop down works. Can't "create instance - greyed out....it shouldn't be this hard.

I think you mean the profiles are in your project browser. The profile needs to be assigned to a Wall Sweep Family Type.
...Start a Wall Sweep. Edit Type Properties. Duplicate and name a new Type (e.g. "New Sweep Type"). Select a profile for it to use from the profiles listed in the "Profile" dropdown.
Yes ... I go to type properties from the profile choice...dialogue opens...click OK.....It's been assigned....even though it shows up on the properties drop down.... I select it.....it does not activate or show up afterwards in the sweeps drop down.
Start the Wall Sweep Command FIRST. The Wall Sweep Type is now displayed on the Properties. Edit the Type shown (via "Edit Type") and "Duplicate" and name a new Type -- and then apply a Profile to that new Type.
Thanks...seems crazy to have to duplicate and re-assign something already existing....I can see it if it was a new profile you created....anyway thanks that worked.
I agree. It seems kind of nonsensical. Anyways, glad you got it figured out.

so do you happen to know how to or if it's possible to edit the color of an asset item in the appearance library....."Asset Browser....Appearance Library.....Siding......Horizontal - 6 in - Beige...." I want to change the color. The same could apply to any appearance asset but this is my case in point. There is a guide that says you can but my experience is it doesn't save with a new color. Even when you get the new item with a new name it still displays the original color and I wonder if it's because the appearance item is an image and can't be changed and they just forgot to mention that....or maybe hadn't thought of that or if there is a way but I am missing some step......I followed the guide exactly.
New topic? New thread. Forum rules. But, yes; you can do that. Easy, breezy.
You got to be kidding, Mr. Carlsen; is that the post you really meant to credit as the solution?
