Hello,
I set all of the model objects and annotation objects line weights and colors to our company standards in a project Using the "Object Styles" tool. On a new project I used the "Transfer Project Standards " tool and told it to overwrite. Everything seems to have transferred except for the Object styles settings. Ex. I reset the line weight for ceiling tags so that the symbol would print bolder. It worked. But the object styles in the new project, that I transferred standards to, are all still set to the out of the box values......
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi
Object styles can be transferred..
You will see the change only if they are different...
also you will get this pop up to select with... ( but once its done there is no going back.. )
Object Styles, Overwrite or New only..
I understand the concept and what it is supposed to do. I also knew that it was one shot..... :/... So I tested it out to see if maybe I had chosen "Only New" instead of "Overwrite".
Attached are screenshots of a new project I started as a test and of the existing project I was using to transfer my standards from. I opened the new project and the existing one. While in the New project I selected "Transfer Project Standards". The existing project was default selected, because it was the only other project open. Revit also default selects all the categories so I left everything "checked" including "Object Styles". When Prompted I selected to "Overwrite" anything that was the same. wall types, line patterns, line styles, materials all were transferred and are in the New Project..... But "Object Styles" were left as the preset values and unchanged......... See the 2 attached screenshots of my annotation objects tab in the Object Styles dialogue box..... Am I missing something?
Not sure why it isn't working for you. I just tried a very simple experiment with two new project files. One I called Original and assigned the wall category to pens 3 and 6 for projection and cut respectively. In the other file called New Standard I changed both to use pen 1. After using TPS the Original project file had changed to pen 1 for both as expected. Perhaps try using TPS only selecting Object Styles and make sure the correct project is selected to transfer from.

Hi...
Try again.. probably change the existing Object styles to something new
for ex " make everything same colour and then use transfer project standards..
In the uploaded screen-cast, I made each and every object style RED in colour and then
used Transfer project standards to check if everything transferred properly..
Have a go..
There is a possibility that " one particular " type of transfer not happening cause of " Revit LT " version...

Ignored setting in Revit LT
@Corsten.Au Thanks for the webcast. That is the exact process I did......
I am transferring from Revit LT to Revit LT and "Object Styles" is an option... I have not found any thing that says it should not work. It's Mind Boggling....
I have done as you suggested on the project and on a new project concerning object styles only.... Still not changing.... Is there some kind of setting that locks the Object Styles from being modified?
Hi @Anonymous
Can you make sure, you have the latest updates installed for your Revit version?
Also, can you share a file to test further? Let me know and I can send you a private upload folder.

I have installed 2 updates. Autodesk_Revit_LT_2019_0_2.exe and Autodesk_Revit_LT_2019_1.exe.
My current build is 19.1.0.112 20180806_1515(x64) 2019.1
I tried the Project Standards Transfer several different ways. None were successful. I tried it from several files to several files in all different combinations. Everything seems to work except Object Styles. When you are prompted to Overwrite or us Just New the dialgoue box has a list of everything that is a duplicate but different. I scroll down through the list. Object Styles are not listed.... Should they be? They are built in with preset values so anything that is different should be overwritten.
Please send me the upload folder and instructions on what you need uploaded.
Best Regards
Hi @Anonymous
I'm checking back to see if you've received the private upload folder?

Unfortunately no I don't think it was. I think it resolved once I was able to get my project templates set up...... but that is because I built them in, not because the transfer started working..... it also may have resolved when we went to the next version... but not sure.
