Hi Guys,
I need to buy a new laptop for Revit and was wondering how everyone's experiences are with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M and 1070. Have you ran into any issues with any of these cards or have they been working perfectly?
Gelöst! Gehe zur Lösung
i have a laptop running a gtx 960m card and from my experience, the gtx gaming cards have difficulty with displaying revit content such as ghosting, transparency, not showing annotation content properly (fuzzy), missing GUI data, etc.
If you are buying a laptop to run Revit or any Autodesk product, stick with the Quadro cards (4000 or higher).

Hi @Anonymous,
even if I may agree with @dzanta, I don't recommend buying a Quadro. I have a Nvidia GTX 970M, and it shows everything it has to, and it is much more versatile than a Quadro.
I also use rendering programs, and some of them are based on a Game Engine, which would not work properly with a QUADRO.
Everybody, have a good day!

Hi Nicola,
I am running Revit 2017 STUDENT VERSION in a Windows 10 64bit with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M. While setting the realistic view on floor plan I cannot see textures. Nevertheless, if I set the 3D view I do see textures.
Do you know if it is an issue of my hardware, drivers or the way I have Revit configured? Everything else works just fine.
Thanks,
Gabriela
I've been running Revit 2017 on an Alienware Aurora R5 Desktop with a GTX 1070... runs like a charm. No issues so far.
Hi @Anonymous,
glad it is working fine for you now!
I am sure you will enjoy it!
Have a great day

My Alienware 17 (1070) is not working well with Revit 16. Works just fine with 17 however. Did you change any settings?
May I ask what you did to solve the issue? I have an alienware NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 and Revit is not running properly, large files refuse to be opened.
and revit says
"The installed video card 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070' has not been tested with Revit. You may continue to use Hardware Acceleration."
Thank you!

JUST A THOUGHT.
I ONLY TEND TO HAVE ISSUES THOUGH IN 2016
Sorry for the caps
Hi @Anonymous
Welcome to the Autodesk community!
Please see Autodesk Revit Hardware Certification FAQ
Use this tool to find recommended system hardware or graphics hardware and drivers for your Revit version.
You can also reach out the vendor directly - Autodesk runs a test suite and sends it out to vendors, vendors then choose what computers or GPU's they want to run the tests with.
If you already have this installed, then I suggest keeping your graphics card drivers up to date and see the FAQ's
Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question. Kudos welcome!

Thank you! I tried it but the problem was in Revit 2018 itself, I tried Revit 2017 and it worked fine!
Thank you for your help and suggestion though!
Hi, could you tell me what was the configuration that solved the problem? You could write to roblesarquitecto@gmail.com. Thank you!
