Numeric checkset in Autodesk Model Checker

Greetings all,

I'm new and I'm trying to create a check rule in Autodesk Model Checker (BIM Interoperability Tools) that verifies if a room's area in a building meets the minimum area value for example 2000 m^2. Is it possible? if yes how can I set that check rule?

That is definitely possible.

If you load the Revit Model Best Practices checkset you can find a check called "Redundant and Unenclosed Rooms". That check looks for rooms that have an Area of 0. If you take that you should be able to modify it for your specific requirements.

Thinks for answering @JasonKunkel ! that's my question actually, how can say true unless there is a room area less that 2000m^2 rule in checks? can you help me in write down? still I don't get how to covert the greater or less that logic to a rule in checkset. thanks once again

A room less than 2000m2 describes most rooms you would ordinarily encounter.

Regardless, this is fairly straightforward if you use the wizard:

Steps are listed below:

I think the UI is quite well put together (very green).

It can also be done with a simple room schedule.

That's really great help @RPTHOMAS108 and @ToanDN ! thank you so much.

One last question, what about other parameters like ceiling height, and the ramp slope, is the ramp on a specific slope and has a handrail next to it? these types of logic could be checked using the model checker, couldn't they?

Ramp slope I would expect you can check

Ceiling height perhaps not

Ramp has a handrail perhaps not

Generally if you are checking for modelling standards or elements containing parameter values then this is ideal.

You can check the railing has a host it seems but you probably you can't check the other way around. So you may have to list the hosts for all railings and then check which ramps are outside of that list.

Ceiling height is a bit subjective again since it can vary, it would have to be based on a simple parameter value or relationship.
