Add a generic annotation family to your family. A generic annotation has a visbility parameter. You can pass this through to the host so that you can hide the annotation in your project.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
Thank you for your reply, more specifically what im after is the ability to link different types of notes to a family. For example I would like to have a set of notes describing the materials of a table, another set of notes describing the installation etc. I would like to be able to turn these off and off independantly, is this possible?
Yes, you can place multiple instances of your nested generic annotation in your family. Each instance can be linked to a separate visbility parameter

Sorry im a bit lost on how i would go about that, do you know of any tutorials on how to do so? Thank you
Get familiar with family creation. A good starting point its the Revit Family Guide.
An example of text inside a family can be found in the refrigerator family of the Revit library. Exact name will depend on which country libraries you have installed. Normally they can be found in the "Specialty Equipment\Domestic" folder

What about text that can be mirror to look right on drawings.
we have some family with A.F.F height text in the family. But when we insert the family and rotate or mirror the family the text doesn't show upright and correct.
Any solutions or what should I do?
Thanks
Depends on what is assumed "correct". I always find it strange (not correct?) to find text up-side-down on drawings as this decreases the readability of a drawing. I think this is similar to the assumptions of Autodesk. So when using normal text Revit will not accept mirrored or upside-down text and automatically rotates it to keep it readable.
You could use a generic annotation inside your family. Inside the generic annotation you can deselect "keep readable". Or you could use model text
