Notching Wall panels without editing profile

Hello,

 

Is it possible to notch bearing seats into precast wall panels without having to edit the profile? I'd like my walls to remain attached to my roof profile so that they maintain the correct slope and editing profiles doesnt allow that. All panel joints also need to have a 1/2" gap. I've attached a picture to clarify what I'm talking about. (This was done by editing the profile of each panel to create the bearing seat, which is how we normally do it, but its kind of a nuisance)

Sure; you could build them into the walls themselves using a sweeps and reveals.

FWIW to others, here's an example of what I mean; 2 walls: one with notch protrusion (sweep), and the other one receiving that notch protrusion (reveal):

New problem: The reveal solution worked great to create the notches, however, whenever a component is placed in an edge of the wall adjacent to the reveal, the reveal resets its shape/length down to the full length of the panel. This is especially a problem when trying to place an embed in the top of the notch, i.e. the bottom of the reveal, because the reveal wants to reset its length but the embed needs to host in it so it creates a circular chain of references. Is there a way to 'fix' the length of the reveal so that it doesn't want to reset its length? It won't allow me to lock it in place or anything like that.

Short and simple answer is: NO. Still, depending on what you're are doing, you could use two walls -- one with reveal/sweep, and one without -- and then join them together. I don't know exactly what your doing, but this might be a viable solution for you -- or it could be ridiculous.  Dunno.

Since ive already created all my panels (Precast concrete wall panels) and placed 95% of all the steel embed plates in them, I've resolved the problem by splitting the panels with reveals where i want the reveal to stop, and then joining the 2 pieces together again. Kind of a messy solution and at this point not sure if the reveals will work better than editing the profiles of the wall, but maybe!

Pretty much what I suggested. Don't think it's messy if it gets the job done. Smart.

Would either of you then know how to create this Reveal/Sweep Notch and Protusion but Vertically. 

I'll like to use this for a Wooden Fassade Construction.

After the fact, yes. Cannot build vertical in assembly. Use the Wall:Reveal/Sweep tool and look on the contextual tab for orientation options.
