Why am I not able to select certain objects in my model space when I am in dimension mode? PS: I can select the same objects when I am in measure mode.

What certain objects?  Have you tried TAB while picking witness for the dimension?

So, these objects are kitchen counter tops. Yes, I have tried tabbing through. But I just can't select the objects.

@ToanDN Please refer attached screenshot. So, Dimension 1 is done using aligned dimension (I couldn't select the elements with Linear Dimension) and I can't place Dimension 2 because when I am in Linear or Aligned dimension , it doesn't select the elements.

@ahirani24

Are you using Aligned Dimension or Linear Dimension?

  1. The former picks up Edges
  2. the latter picks up End Points

Try Linear

Edit: Or upload the family

Does the family have reference planes set to Left, Right, Center, Front, Back, Strong Reference, or Weak Reference?  Are model or symbolic lines in the family set to Strong / Weak Reference or Not a Reference?

If the above are set to Not a Reference and the 3d geometry is set not visible on plan then you won't be able to dimension it in the project.

@ToanDNI'm sorry, I can't really get what you are saying. Could you please break it up and make me understand?

I have attached a screen recording for more clarity.
