no walls for roof plan

I am new to REVIT, very experienced in Autocad.  I have spent 3 hours trying to view any walls on a roof plan. I have read the posts, I have set the view template to none so I could vary the view range, tried every variation.  There is nothing to view on the roof layer but one line that reads 'import symbol.'  Any new ideas would be appreciated.

What variations?  Try bottom of view range  = Unlimited?

Cut a section to understand your wall heights related to levels.

Depends on how you created the "Roof Plan" also.  What is the Associated Level?

What variation is confusing to me. Revit lt 2022?
I have tried the bottom of range among other options in those hours of
effort. Many different combos were unsuccessful.
I have section cuts which show walls going from floor to lower roof line.
Thank you for trying!

Just attach your RVT to a reply post.  You'll see the "Attachments" option if you scroll down below the text portion of the reply post.

Let me try it again.  What are the different combos?  Do you have a combo with the bottom of the view range = Unlimited?

go to your roof plan view, try to activate your bulb icon, it could be hidden in the view and unhide element?

From what you have stated above, the Walls are obscured by the Roof element. IE: they will not show on the roof plan. Roof elements when placed, unlike floors, they place above the level obscuring all what is below

You have the following options

  • Detach or Extend Walls UP TO Top face of the Roof
  • Use the Underlay option (For the underlay to show properly, you need to set the view range Bottom and Depth to Associated Level with Offset = 0)

 Show walls below.gif

  • Use the feature Show Hidden Lines
    1. Set the view Range Bottom and Depth to "Level Below"
    2. Set view to wireframe
    3. Go to view tab >> Show Hidden Lines
    4. Select Floor/Roof Element THEN select walls
    5. Set view back to hidden line

Show walls below 1.gif

There is no roof element to be blocking.
I tried the suggestions anyway, except I cannot select the roof if there is
no roof.
Appreciate you trying.

Sorry I left the impression there was a roof. When I go to 'Roof' there
are no walls to draw from.
I do not know how to post drawings here.
There are only the walls, doors, windows, appliances I have loaded. Nothing
has been added but the very basics.

Let's confirm. You say "There are only the walls, doors, windows, appliances I have LOADED", but have you actually PLACED instances of walls, doors, windows, appliances in 'model space'?   If so, what Level did you place them on, and what is the Associated Level of your "Roof Plan".  That info is in the View Properties.

...Also important, is the Phase of the Views.  That's one of those 33 I sent you above.

Answers to your questions:
I have tried the 'bulb' icon for hidden objects but it revealed nothing.
I have *placed* the items. They are showing in 3D. I placed them on
level 1
The associated level for the roof is Low Roof.
The phase is B10-Superstructure.

I tried attaching the drawing through the normal attach files link, but it
is too large to go.

Thank you so much for your patience!

Sounds like you are using the OOTB Construction Template.  I'm betting money that this is Phase Related.  Set your Roof View's Phase Filter to "None" and its View Range Bottom and Depth to "Unlimited" - and then Zoom to Fit.  See anything?

Make sure your roof lvl isnt the "top" of parapet lvl. Have two separate lvls and then create a new plan that is at the roof lvl, this should show your walls.
