In my Revit model I have linked an OS map (quite a while back) so that we could see the building in context. When I changed the original AutoCAD file today Revit could not load the changes. I tried reloading the file from Manage Links and Revit came back with the above error.
- I have tried copying and pasting the information into a new file, but Revit came back with the same error.
- I tried exploding everything in the file but still had the same error message.
- I tried renaming the file as Autodesk suggests in the help section, this did not work and also lost the link so that the file is lost.
The only change that has occurred since I last successfully edited the file was an AutoCAD upgrade from 2017 to 2018 but I'd be surprised if that was the issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions? It would take a long time to trace the OS map in Revit so if there is a solution out there I would be ever so grateful!

confirm everything is in Model space and delete anything that is in Paper space.
are there any 3d elements in the AutoCAD file?
when you link the cad file is it on its own workset or a workset that is turned off?
is the check box checked for (this view only)
confirm the units in AutoCAD match the units in Revit
Hi ncoutts--
Hmmmm not sure what's going on here, but if the only change was the AutoCAD upgrade, perhaps you can try saving the AutoCAD file in the previous format (via the File Type drop-down in the Save As dialog), then re-load and see if that helps.

It worked! not sure why I didn't think to do that myself tbh. Thanks for your help!
