No "Imperial-Architectural Template" option for New project even though the default path for family template files is English-Imperial

My Revit 2021 tutorial is showing me that I need to choose the "Imperial-Architectural Template" from the outset when choosing a New Project. I have downloaded the US English Content for Revit 2022, and none of my options begin with "Imperial..." even though I have set the default path as C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2022\Family Templates\English-Imperial

Can someone show why this isn't enough??

Has this detail changed for Revit 2022?

Project templates and Family templates are different and they are stored in different folders.  What you need is this:

Project templates are in a folder called Templates not Family templates

It is the default.rte or can also use the commercial.rte

The tutorial you are following must be for an older version where they were named differently

Default.rte is the US Imperial project template.

It doesn't matter.  You can name it whatever you want.

Can anyone confirm that Revit 2022.1 does not explicitly say Imperial before the template titles...

Confirmed ... See GIF below

  • The template Default.rte is the imperial template
  • The name in the drop down menu for New Projects does NOT need to read Imperial (user can edit the name)
  • If you want the name to be listed and EXPLICITLY state Imperial-, you have to rename it under Options >> File Locations >> Name (this would only be useful if you use for example: both metric and imperial)

Some more information and a question would be helpful.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

I only have two options when I make a new project (Imperial Multi-Discipline and Metric Multi-Discipline). I need to use Imperial Architecture for a class. Any ideas about how to get this option?

There are only two OOTB templates now, Imperial and Metric. If your teacher/professor is requiring an architectural template, politely tell them they are out of date.
