Hi
I am working with the student version of Revit 2017 and a commercial version of Rhino 5. I have produced model files in rhino that I convert to ACIS then import through model in place components in my project file. After installing the latest service pack to fix issues with text editing I am no unable to explode ACIS files the way I used to from my home install of Revit. In the past when I inserted an ACIS file while making a component I could select the object once the import completed and click on partial explode. Once I did that it would allow me to apply materials to the object in the same way I would with something I made using the revit modeling tools.
The computers at my college are also using revit 2017 but I am unsure what service updates are installed on them. When I perform the same series of steps using that version of revit I am presented with the option to perform a partial explode. Both exports I have made using a clean install of rhino at college and the fully personalise version I use at home for professional work behave the same way, allowing partial explode on the college installation but not on my home installation.
Any help on how to resolve this would be welcome ![]()
I can stream the process from on twitch if required
Hi @Anonymous
Please try the following link HERE on exploding imported geometry.
If you can send us a journal file then we can what service updates are installed on the machines.
Can you send us a file to troubleshoot? We can reproduce the error if related in 2017 with latest hotfixes and updates.
