Hey guys,
I'm trying out the Revit LT program. It appears I have a very limited catalog, only a single door, no furniture, I can't seem to download anything?? Is this due to the trial version or maybe something I have done wrong. I'm new to Revit but have a good amount of Autodesk experience.
Thanks,
Adam
Check out this article on the Autodesk Knowledge Network. Choose the year of Revit you are using and try downloading the corresponding link's Libraries package.
i don't use LT, but if you go to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Product Name\Libraries\US Imperial or Metric and go down to the Door folder, is there any .RFA file there?
if there are, go to Insert ribbon < Load Family

Seems nothing is here, after I get to libraries there is only a "generic" folder that is empty. It seems to me that all the Families content is missing.
well then... follow @Redrunner92 's link and download the content ![]()

What is happening exactly? I mean downloading something to your computer from the internet would not involve Revit. Know what I mean?
I have no family in the load family tab. Takes me to an empty generic folder. I have tried re loading the content as was suggested earlier, which did not solve the issue. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the entire program this afternoon to no avail. Again this is my first week using the software so maybe I have done something incorrectly or perhaps there is a set up step I have skipped.. basically I have no components, only a single door type, a single desk as furniture etc.
go to your Options > File Locations > Places...
what does it say?
can you shoe a screen capture of your File Locations and Places windows?
should look something like this (different folders of course....)

I doubt this very much, but maybe the installation didn't install content.
Here you go.
Are you saying you downloaded this content earlier today? Where did you put it? Check under the sofa cushions. That's my goto place when I lose stuff. ![]()
I found my lost keys in the refrigeration one time. No kidding. #$@&%*!
Check your refrigerator.
Checked the couch.. found a dollar, which is a good start however i'm still quite short in the content catalog!
When I downloaded the content I saved it in the suggested file path, which I can easily trace. However as you will notice in the Project Browser I still only a single door type, a single desk, no other furniture. When I try to load a further Family i end up in this generic folder. Again I can trace the downloaded content search path but it does not see to bring in and new door types, furniture, etc..
anything here? C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2020\Libraries\US Imperial
or here? C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2020\Libraries\US Metric
for some reason my search path goes to this "generic" folder and not to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2020\Libraries\US Metric
stop pointing tot he Generic folder, what is in the next folder up? neither of those should be pointing to the Generic folder. try pointing it to .../RLT 2020/Library/ or .../RLT 2020/Library/Metric Library/

@Anonymous Easy way is..... if possible check with your Revit LT 2020 user either friends/ colleague's whoever copy the content libraries from their desk and paste it on your desk in a right path. It's around may 2.5 GB . Because as @Redrunner92 post what he guided That must be a solution..that also not worked out. Then there you may be missed some installation steps I guess. Did you remember at the initial time Software installation see this image ..like this
Will you check in that Revit LT Content Libraries 2020?
