New Symbolic linetype in a family

I am trying to create a Red Dash Line to represent lighting in a furniture family, the only line styles loaded over there are "furniture", "Hidden Lines" and "<invisible lines>" I need to create a new line type / style

[thickness 5, color red, dashed] and when I go to additional settings, the tools "Line Weights" and "Line Patterns" are active but the tool "Line Styles" is gray out.

Could someone please tell me how to create my new line style?

thank you

In family, set them up under Manage > Object Styles; add sub-categories, not Line Styles.

I'm curious to know what you mean by "represent lighting".  The answer could make a difference.

FWIW: shared Light Fixture nested into in Wall Cabinet family and then loaded and placed on Wall in Project. Light Source Line Pattern and Color assigned through View Visibility and Graphic Overrides.  You could use existing Line Type or create a new one through Manage tab=>Additional Settings.
