Hi First time posting
I have a completed project that is to get an extension.
Best way to do this - i want to copy the building over and make it an existing phase so that we can start drawing the proposals without effecting anything previously drawn i.e levels. I have tried to doing this with simple copy and paste function from the 3D perspective but when i add levels the model fills with errors. There doesn't seem to be any clear guidance on set up and method? Where am i going wrong? Thanks in advance
Why don't you just use the current project and save it with another name? Change all elements to existing phase.
Thanks i may have tried this also. I set up the new drawing but what is best way to change them all to existing? Would it be selecting all items in the 3D view?
Also I thought by copying over to a new project I thought it would be quicker way to lose all the drawing sheets etc as it is quite a large file and have a clean project?
As with many things, there are many different paths that will get you to the same destination. Here is what I would do. Open the file, detaching it from the central file. Save as a new name. Add a new level in the phasing. Then change your views to the new phase. All of your walls should turn to existing.
Hope this helps.
Thanks this sounds like what i have since done. Currently checking to see if any issues thanks for your response
Have you considered just building onto your existing project? You can add additional Phases to it.
