Hello:
I am working on a building that is existing, but we need to create the building, for we will be demolishing some certain things, however, when I put from "New Construction" to "Existing", it makes it gray; I want to keep the color of the "New Construction", but the only way I found doing that is by Overide Graphics in View, Element, and changing the background to Solid Fill, and picking the color. This is fine for the walls, but with the windows, doors, appliances, I can't get the color of the trim and the frame, so I was wondering if Revit has a tool that can keep the "New Construction" color even if I make existing?
You can set it up through manage -> phases. Both view combinations and the graphic override settings...
My apologies, I am not very smart at this, and I apologize if my question is ignorant. I clicked on a door I made existing, and it became gray, and then I click on it, go to Manage, click on Phases in the Phasing, I get these windows. I don't quite see where you are talking about how to override?
When a phase filter is set to overridden, ie. new construction is overridden it will apply the graphic overrides according to the graphic overrides for new. So when you set phase to new construction, phase filter to show new ie. it will show new/existing with graphic overrides with your settings... So you need to use a phase filter with new construction set to by category in your case...
Sounds like your View's Phase Filter is not set properly. Set it to "Show Complete".
