New asset not appearing in asset browser

I've created a custom material for a window so I can quickly change all the windows in a project to a different colour as and when a client wants to see a different colour.

I duplicated the project material "window frame" to "window frame custom" and duplicated the asset currently assigned and changed it, in this case, to an Anthracite gray. All works fine but when I flip to the asset browser, its not showing. However, if I search for the new asset, its there. I'll post some screen shots...

Asset1.jpg is the screenshot showing the created asset

Asset2.jpg is the screenshot showing the asset not in the browser

Asset3.jpg is a screenshot showing the asset found but only via a search

Any ideas?

Right click the new asset and add it to Favorites.

Thanks @ToanDN . That works, but doesn't explain why it doesn't show in the asset browser even though when you search its there? Also, If I open this project up on a different PC, the favourites only appear to be dependant on the machine they were saved so won't show what I saved as a favourite on my PC on my laptop, for example.

You cannot add new asset to the OOTB asset library. Either add to Favorites, or create a new asset library and add to it if you want to transfer the adsklib to other machines

Ah OK. How come its visible when I search but not when I just look in the list?

It was in Document Asset.  You were looking in the Appearance Library so you didn't see it.

So, your idea is to sit down with the client and open the Material Browser and change the Appearance /Asset Properties of the Material each time the client wants to see the Window rendered in a different color?  You don't have a select few options in mind beforehand?  Sounds "dangerous" to not to have some limits, if you catch my drift.

I see your point, but if the client wants green or blue or anything, its only a few clicks to show them. True, I could give them 2 or 3 options but why limit them?

I think you caught my drift pretty well.

If the client wants to pay you for this work - and more importantly, you want the aggravation that I'm sure it will bring - then go for it.

Good luck.
