Nested window trim to window window instance

Hello, I am trying to add nested window trim family, exterior and interior, to a fixed window instance.  I open the window instance family, create additional family type, generic model paramters as types, one for exterior trim and one for interior trim.  Then I load in the basic window trim family (sill or picture) to the family.  Then I drag them into the family in 3d on the wall plane.  But then I dont know how to associate the trim so that when I choose sill trim or picture frame, just the one that I choose shows up.  It seems like they are not associated with my parameter that I created.  Overall objective is to have an instance window that I can drag to different sizes that also has sill or picture frame trim family associated with it.

Thanks

Hi @55chuteT9MXS ,

You need to link the nested family with your 'WINDOW TRIM EXTERIOR' parameter using the Label parameter while it is selected. Like that, you will be able to choose the type you want from the drop down menu.

Also do not forget to associate the nested family parameters with the parent ones so the resizing follows
