I have a Mechanical Family (Strut and clamps) with a Nested Mechanical Family (Strut) in it that has a Structural Framing Family (a flat bar) nested in it.
The Structural Framing Family was created as a Mechanical Family then switched to the Structural family.
The problem is in the visibility of the Structural Member not following the Mechanical Family (Strut) visibility in the main family.
I placed 4 Strut families in the Main family, each facing a different direction. When I use parameters to set each one's visibility the strut geometry is controlled just fine. The nested Structural Family in the Strut does not turn off as it should. Pic 1 all Struts on, pic 2 all but one Strut turned off. See the Structural Family of the other Struts still visible.
Is this a known Structural Family issue or is something else going wrong?
Do I have to create a visibility parameter in the Structural Family and set up a chain to get it to work?

Hi @sdonahay
You will have to create the yes/no parameter inside the nested family and create another yes/no inside the 1st family and point this parameter to the nested one.
Probably you will have to create a shared parameter to do so (not sure right now, I need to test it before).
To control visibility on Visibility Graphics you will have to get all the families in the same category
