I created a nested family with a few different families in it (all of them are Generic Models) but recently discovered that when trying to hide the host family in a project, one of the nested families remains visible. It doesn't look like it's even included in the selection like the other nested families. That same nested family can be individually selected and hidden but I can't select it with a box selection either. I've looked into the visibility properties, and all of the nested families are shared, I'm not sure what else it could be. Any ideas?

Seems to hide fine here

My apologies, I just took another look at it and it only seems to happen in the plan view, the 3D view works fine as you demonstrated.
Add the Shared Families to a Selection Set Filter and use the Filter to Select all those Families when you need to.
It doesn't apply here. I misread you. You say you can't hide the Host Family in the View. I just tested your Family in a Project and I have no like issues - in any View. Hides entirely.
The host family hides fine, it was just one of the families nested within it, the top angle to be precise. Here's a couple screenshots of what I'm seeing.
Before:
After:
The top angle is still visible, it can be individually selected and hidden though.
You're saying the whole thing was hidden in the plan view when you tried to hide it?
It hides fine in all views....see below plan and elevation
Just be careful what is being highlighted...having shared nested components, you could be selecting a sub components and missing the others. Just wait for the balloon tool tip (notice the tips in the GIF...tab to pick the Host family and not the array)

Well it is your family, I did not adjust anything...might have to do with view range but most likely it has more to do with what you are picking. I tried it in in a plan view, in a site view uncut seen from top as well as in an RCP ie: see from bottom also uncut and it hides perfectly fine if you select the Main family.
Barth tested it too and he also confirmed that there is no issue when hiding it...We might be missing out on something but for sure no one here has interest in bluffing you

Maybe you have another one showing in an Underlay?
...or post your Project File.
I'm not trying to accuse y'all of bluffing me, I know you're trying to help and I really appreciate it. I've triple checked, and I am selecting the host family. I was just saying in your gif, if the top angle was visible in Level 1 it would be between those two lines pointing down like how it shows in my screenshot because it's offset from the panel and I don't see it there.
That's a great point, sorry, I probably should have posted that to begin with. It's a bit big since I used our template with all of our families in it but here it is:
You modeled the Top Angle Bar as Column then change category to Generic ....
Edit: SO you were partly right with respect to the view range ![]()

...or collapsing the top level should do the trick since there is no geometry that dependent on the offset. Still, I'd probably rebuild it. Cleaner.
Changing the family to a regular Generic Model as opposed to a Two Level Based Generic Model seemed to do the trick. Thank you all for your help!
Alright, so I came across the issue again but I think I figured it out for real this time haha. For anyone else who might come across a similar issue, it seems to be how the cut plane works in the view range. The top angle was between the cut plane and top plane so it was visible but only selectable by directly clicking on it. Here's a link for the YouTube video that helped me figure that out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMxk3usEqRk
