Nested Family Issue

I'm trying to add a nested filled region (detail item) on top of my window family to indicate frosted glass. I've managed to resize them to the correct pane of glass size, but I can't figure out how to lock the item to the bottom of the window pane. When I flex the family, the nested item is the correct size but it lands in the wrong position.

I've attached screenshots and the family...

Cheers

I would add center reference plane to the fill region.

add center.png

Then lock it to the center of the window.

You are using type parameters, these require Glass width and Length parameters to associate the nested family to...to save yourself the trouble do the following:

  1. Change the parameters in the Detail Item to instance
  2. lock the Region to the 4 reference plans controlling the Length and Width
  3. Load into the window and Align lock to the Reference plans at the edges of the glass

Can you try to use " Material " to show the hatch pattern, correct colors etc..

introducing 2D elements in nested family becomes complicated.
