Is it possible to work on a Revit project in the following work flow:
1. Local Setup, Project Creation
a. Create a building as a the Architec >> create floor plans
b. Adjust the elevation hieghts of the facility
c. remove any sheets provided from the template used to create teh project
2. Setup the Teamwork Environment
a. Post the basic building shell on the network
b. Open and re-save the file as a central file
3a. Trade Discipline Work Flow, LINKED
a. Create a new project from a Trade Template
b. LINK the central file into the project brings floor plan and all other trade system with it
c. Add a new trade discipline system to the local project model
d. Create trade Discipline Sheets
e. Push the new trade system into the central project file
f. push the trade sheets into the central file
g. do all this but NEVER allowed to modify the central building floorplan or other discpline system
3b. Trade Discipline Work Flow, LOCAL INSTANCE
a. Open the central file as a local instance, brings floor plan and all other trade system with it
b. Add new trade system to the model
c. Create Trade Discipline Sheets
e. Push the Trade system into the central project
f. push the trade sheets into the central file
g. do all this but NEVER allowed to modify the central building floorplan or oher trade systems
The goal is to be able to get each trade system into the central file and push system updates into the central file to allow clash detection operations on the central file BUT mantain the systems and trade sheets in a separate trade model for each discipline.
I should also mention I would like to be able to link other discipline systems into a local disciple trade project WITHOUT the linked model sheets. Is this possible?
Which is the preferred method? And or do I need to course correct a bit?
Thanks in Advance
Tim C.

Worksharing/worksets (central/local) files are designed to permit multi-user concurrent work on a single Revit project file. That is completely separate from discipline file/model collaboration. Each discipline can have its own file(s) which can also use worksets/worksharing.
Each discipline shares their models with the other trades. Everyone links each other's files into their own. They only see the model elements of the linked files. The sheets and views of the other discipline's models are present but not visible to Revit users seeing their linked models. Only elements in the hosting file can be altered.
The file linking is very similar to AutoCAD External References. It is worksharing/worksets that is completely different from AutoCAD, single user per file environment.
