Need advise on how to add four intermediate mullions to the attached family fixed window. Family Window originally out of the box had a cross vertical/horizontal mullion that I tried (unsuccessfully) to convert into the four vertical intermediate mullions, but although the window showed well on the building elevations the the family was loaded into the model, the new vertical mullions did not show on the building elevations. The vertical mullions could be about 1-1/2 wide to match more or less the exterior framing.
Instructions would be as simple as how to add one of the vertical mullions to the glass elevation of the family window (I tried but is not working out).
Will be great if the mullions can be relocated for other additional window dimensions.
The building is an "existing" building.
If you give instructions, I can follow that.
Thanks in advance.
Are you talking about Muntins? They are located in the Windows=>Nested Families=>Muntin folder.
...maybe I misunderstood. Are you saying the Muntins aren't showing in Elevation Views? Did you check their Visibility Settings? Or perhaps, they are associated to a Visibility Parameter that is unchecked?
...looks like the OOTB Muntins are not Visible in Course or Medium Detail Levels. Check those boxes.
thanks. I will take a look at the options and get back to you (I forgot about the "Nested Families")
I was able to work an "imperfect" "for now" solution for the four intermediate vertical mullions, sort of what I believe is named "placeholders". In the near future I might revisit again this topic, which has involved family revisions and creations, and will get back to this thread.
Thanks a lot Barth!
Most people Array the Muntins and "parameterize" them. No "placeholders" necessary . Go to Marvin Doors and Windows and download one of their Window Families to see how it's done.
Here a direct link to where you can obtain Revit content from Marvin:
