Hello,
I have a strange problem. I exported an NWC from a RVT Project. All the elements look fine except for a few elements. One of them is a particular type of a family of Specialty Equipment Category. It is a Ladder family to a Underground Water Tank. Also some Steel I Section Framing Elements displaced in different location vertically than the Revit File.
When I append the exported NWC into Navisworks, the Family & Type name of the elements remain same for the problematic objects but the appearance of the element is different.
Take a look the snapshots below, I've kept an adjacent ladder for comparison.
So the question is: Does Revit not always export the same geometry to Navisworks exactly?
So, I thought why not export the problematic family elements separately as an NWC. Now I was surprised because the elements are exported properly.
See the snapshot below for an overlay two NWC files.
1. TestWireframe.nwc = NWC of the whole model with Specialty Equipment Revit Category elements isolated
2. Test.nwc = NWC Export from a Isolated 3D View of only the elements of the problematic ladder.
Somebody explain me why Revit behaves differently in these two different situations. Why does it export a wrong geometry while exporting the whole model and why does it export properly when those objects isolated?
Thanks for reading carefully and patiently. Hoping to see some good explanation.
