My Revit is not responding

Hi, I'm an interior design student and I'm currently working on a house in Revit 2024. It takes a long time to load the project, it loads for a few minutes when I scroll in or out, the paint tool takes 4 minutes to load in and it takes even longer when I try to make a new material, and it takes forever to save. I have been sitting here for longer than 30 minutes waiting for my project to save, but it just says not responding and I barely did anything on it today. It just keeps taking longer and longer to load and now it seems it's not loading at all and my final is coming up. Does anyone know how to fix this problem so I can finish my project, Please?

Hello

I can imagine the frustration.

Try These steps

1. Audit File while opening.

2. If there are multiple links ( and if you are using worksets for different links ) then open

only those worksets which you want to work on, this will speed up file opening.

3. Purge all unused materials ( make sure you take advice from BIM manager, or team members before doing this )

4. While using paint ( PT ) command, make sure you are panting the live elements in the file, and NOT the elements coming from the LINKed Revit.

5. Check the material you are using, for example any missing JPGs linked to that material, if its missing, or location of JPGs are disconnected then Revit might struggle to resolve the material.

6. If particular Material is giving issue, then simply create a new one and delete the old one.

Best of luck.

Cheers.
