Multiple Revit Links - Material and Graphics problem

Hello Revit people,

I am currently using Revit 2018. I am modeling a part of a City and using 1 main file where I link multiple files within it, to make it easier to manipulate each file seperatly. I never link within a link.

I seem to have a graphics and material problem. All my components (buildings, street families, etc) seem to look like clay and have no proper detailing. This happens in 3D views, Plan views and Renderings.

Another problem I seem to have is the artificial lighting from my Street Lamps (families) are not recognized. Probably has something to do with the issue described above.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any solutions?

Attached is a quick rendering showing the issues. Please comment.

Does it look the same when you render the linked files?
