Multi-User Collaboration

Hi!

I have been in-charge of a student design team's architectural modeling for the last 2 years, and in that time I have investigated some of the options for collaboration, like work-sharing, and BIM360, but so far the best solution seems to have been the ability to link Revit files.

Work-sharing seems infeasible, as we don't have access to a dedicated machine that can just run Revit during the window, and BIM360 is too expensive -- and I haven't actually received any reply from them. Linked Revit-files can be tedious to keep updated, especially as it requires uploading, and then downloading the updated files to everyone's computers.

I am wondering if the people here have any ideas on how we can better collaborate for next year's design competition?

You can try to work with a central located in a cloud (dropbox, drive, etc.). In this way all the people involved in the project have immediate access to the updated model. This has certain disadvantages such as conflicting copies if two or more people sync at the same time.
