Multi layered wall to host 1 element

Hello.

I have a multilayered wall. The core of the wall is existing and the external insulation render is part of a new construction phase.

For instance, when I add a door, Revit picks up only one wall and I would need to pick up both. I have recorded a screencast so you can see.

Join the walls, then placing a door will cut both walls.

They must have already been joined.
