Mulitple Files Opened Crash Revit

This is very close to existing issues, but not quite the same.

My Revit 2017.2 keeps crashing whenever I  try and open multiple files. Revit seems to have no issues with working on one file at a time. Types of files do not matter, as these can be the smallest, most basic, original Revit supplied families, and as soon as I try and open two files... I get an unrecoverable error has occurred message. I have tried simple fixes such as restarting revit/computer, and repairing revit. These show no improvement.

Only recent activity, outside of revit is that I updated my graphics card (nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB) to the latest update. And I updated java.

I remember getting this msg before which really got me mad , but it didn't happen because of opening multiple files it happened whenever I tried to open a specific project file ( which was heavy )...

Did u try to open multiple files different than those that u opened when this msg appeared . I'm asking because I think that the problem might be from a specific file .

The message would happen even when opening two of the most basic standard revit families, so no it wasn't a file issue. Thankfully I've fixed the issue, or at least got it working again. To be completely honest, I don't know what was wrong in the first place.

Doing standard troubleshooting procedures worked. I moved all of the extensions out of the revit extension folder (all of which worked when only on one file) restarted revit.. everything was ok. Then moved all of the same extensions back in to the extension folder, and restarted revit again. Everything worked once again including all of the extensions.

In the end there was something quirky happening in the extension folder, but not due to a broken extension. Just a quirk that fixed itself.
