I have metal standing roof modeled as sloped glaze.

The family works fine as i added borders to the roof, etc. Yet the "ridge" has not been created.

Is there a way to add that systematically or model in place is only way to go ? I also think of split the roof but it's not worth it.

Anyone ?

You can create a corner mullion type and use Mullion tool to place them where you want, or assign it to the sloped glazing type.

I prefer to use a specific roof type for flashing. It's set at 5mm thick and has a same colour as the main roof.

Copy the main roof, paste and move it 5mm up then change it's type to the 5mm flashing roof.

You can then use a vertical opening or adjust the boundary to suit your needs.

I don't understand your suggestion.

Have a look at the attached file. I think it's the quickest and easiest way to get roof flashing modelled without going overboard.

That is actually a very good approach.

- Copy paste the roof aligned in place, move up and change to a different type

Use Vertical Cut Opening tool and draw the boundaries to cut out the new roof

Result.

Try using the Quad corner mullion. It will create the cap that you wanted.
