Moving Tab to Other Screen Causes Crash

Anonymous

Hello @Viveka_CD,

When I have two or more tabs open and I attempt to drag one to my other screen Revit 2019.2 crashes.

The same does not happen if I only have one tab open and try to drag it, nor does it crash in Revit 2020.

Please assist.

Are the screens running different resolutions?

Have you installed 2019 after 2020? There may be problems with the way certain distributables have loaded when installing. I've had issues with this. Also proper dual screen was only supported in 2019 so it may be a bug?

@nathaniel.mcmahon I may have installed 2018 after 2019? I will do a reinstall and see if this solves the issue.

@Anonymous yes, I am running different screen resolutions. What should I do if that is the issue?

You may have to delete both core then start again from scratch with 2018 then 2019. Or if when you install 2018 you should notice some installation errors but it seems to work anyway. You can actually target those errors in the installation text file it produces and look for the errors in the list, usually a Microsoft re-distributable and uninstall that specific program using add remove programs. Then try installing again. It can be a long process. Good luck and I hope it solves your problem.
