Moving project to established offset ground level

Hi guys,

If I already modeled my underground conduits and then found out that the offset for the ground level is not 0,0,0, but 23' above ground level.  Does that mean that it's 23' above 0,0,0?  Also, would it be practical to change the project basepoint z coordinate to 23, so that level 0 would indicate 23', instead of 0?  This would adjust/move everything that I've modeled in one instant, right?

Welcome to the forum, @kameron1967

If you want your levels to show 23' for Level 0, you need to:

  • Edit the Elevation value of your project base point, while it is clipped.
  • In your elevations, select a level. In its type properties, set the Elevation base to Survey point.

Alfredo is right.

Basically you have two base points in your project:

-survey point / topo point that defines the geographical position of your model

-project base point that ddefines the position of every project element.

Keeping the project base point clipped makes your whole model move with the point. So that it is very important that you proceed exactly as Alfredo described.

As the topo base point will stay in place, the elevation of your whole project will change, as if it had been lifted up.

In order to see the change though, you need the elevations to be calculated from the right origin, thus the second step described by Alfredo. Set the levels as being calculated from the survey base point in the levels type properties.

Hope this batch of more in-depth info helps you solve the problem farther down the line,

François

Thanks for the information guys.  I'm sorry, I was on vacation last week, so just now had a chance to check my emails.  :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:
