Moving Project, project base point and clipping and unclupping

Hi guys,

I have been working on a model where the coordinates have been 0, 0, 0. However now the consultants have given me a Z value of 3.45 (the rest remains unknown for now). I have tagged the spot elevation on the Concrete profile plans and set up levels already. In order for me to do minimal rework do I:

Move the project in the Z direction by specifying the shared coordinates under the Manage/coordinates/shared coordinates tab. Then change all my Level heads "Elevation base" to "survey point" and change all my Plan Spot elevations to show SSL instead of FFL?

If this is the case then, how come my spot coordination doesn't reflect my spot elevation of 4.55 when doing so? (See attached snippet).

Is there a better/faster way of doing this, ie, moving my model up 4.55m.

Thanks in advance. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Unpin Project Base Point and move it z direction.

@ToanDNso do not move its Z coordinate in the manage tab? Why not, if you don't mind me asking?

Also, what is the difference in unclipping and clipping while moving Z coordinate? Could you explain please? I find them very confusing. :verwirrtes_Gesicht:

Thanks!

Move the clipped project base point will bring the entire model along with it and it can break things easily. Moving the unclipped project base point does not move the model, only changes the delta between it and elevation reporting elements such as levels and spot elevation, for example of you move the unclipped project base point 10m down, +5m level will become +15m level.

I'm unclear why you're moving moving your Project Base Point at all.  Move your Survey Point down 3.45. That's your Levels' Elevation Base; Right?  If  the consultant's file Linked into yours via shared coordinates, it's landing in your project relative to the Survey Point, not your PBP.

@barthbradleyI'm moving my Project base point because I need my SSL to display the correct level in relation to the Site. At the moment I have no site model and I will not be linking in a site model, rather the consultant will be using my model and link it into his model. And his model has a Z value of 4.55. If I change my project Z coordinate to 4.55 I will get the correct levels showing up on my plans instead of 0.0 for ground and so of. If I change the survey point then my levels remain at 0.0 because I have no other shared coordinates to plug in, I assume.
