We have Revit and Newforma working together in a Windows 2012 environment. We wanted to move the Revit files as they are on the DC which is also a file server as performance is bad and we have read that can be a consequence of storing the Revit files on a DC. We created another VM/VHD combination and moved Revit and changed the share location - same drive letter but new location. Nothing worked as we found that Revit files were using UNC. Where does this UNC come into play? How can we get around this? As well Revit is tied into NewForma so we would have to move NewForma as well. How do we do that? How do we move it so that the links are all kept between the two? Would DFS be the way to go?
